it’s pure late-90s excess, with insane editing, goofy tech paranoia, and van damme just doing his thing. the plot barely holds together, but the energy is relentless and still somewhat entertaining. messy, ridiculous, but never boring. definitely a choice to make this my first tsui hark, but i’m both impressed and intrigued enough to wanna continue delving into his filmography.

When a movie’s dumb and fully aware of just how dumb it is, you’re in for a good time. Nothing’s worse than a dumb movie that lacks self awareness. Cough cough
I was expecting this to be fun and it was! But I wasn’t expecting to see some of the whackiest cinematography I’ve ever seen. There are some seriously cool shots all through this thing! And JCVD is just.. insane lmao. Love the choreography in this, too!
