it’s pure late-90s excess, with insane editing, goofy tech paranoia, and van damme just doing his thing. the plot barely holds together, but the energy is relentless and still somewhat entertaining. messy, ridiculous, but never boring. definitely a choice to make this my first tsui hark, but i’m both impressed and intrigued enough to wanna continue delving into his filmography.
