Real talk, this is a great movie. The “political thriller period piece” genre is like Thai food. An abundance of options, but the floor is pretty high. But even for a good style of movie this one is especially good. Flawless costuming and set design. The plot lags at times in a very indulgent Yorgos kind of way. But the emotional and character depth here makes the court really come to life in a disarming way. The WASPy sister to Korean class movies like Parasite and The Handmaiden
