Sun-ju is a reporter who uncovers a series of inexplicable deaths that occurred simultaneously. Her investigation leads her to a resort, where she finds a videotape filled with mysterious images. After viewing it, a message appears on the screen that she has just been cursed, and that in order to save herself she must - end of tape. Somebody has erased the rest, leaving her horrified and uncertain of her next move.

I don't buy the "based on the Suzuki novel and not a remake" bullshit the film is trying to sell me, nor do I like the pathetic visual style. Rubbish through and through. A misshapen fuck-up if ever there was one.

They literally combined the 1995 version and 1998 version and adapted it to Korean culture. It turns out not that bad but at some point they didn't adapt it very well. It feels like almost every characters still lacking their motivation. And I can see why they didn't produce the next movie for this.
