To be honest, I don't think I ever "got" true crime docs. They often seem like they're fetishizing the killers or using victims for shock value rather than real people. This film has its highs: taking time to explain Slenderman to the normies, discussion on memetics; but it also has lows, focusing on the young killer's family time in prison or completely not providing any information on the victims. It's one thing to not interview them per request, but you can disclose that. It would be nice to inform the audiences the victim is okay but did not want to disclose further information.
