Steven Chow is actually one of the best comedy actors ever! I need to see more of his! Also WTF CHENG PEI-PEI THE QUEEN OF 1960S WUXIA FILMS IS IN THIS I DIDN'T REALISE IT WAS THR QUEEN! also loved Gong Li she was stunning but I wish she had more in this role than just the stunning pretty girl role. Clearly Steven Chow's film tbh

Stephen Chow doing his thing—the visual gags are pretty non-stop and are a bit hit and miss (though given the sheer number, it pays off), while the wordplay is largely mangled by poor subtitles—but Gong Li’s presence helps a lot and Ching Pei-Pei is pretty great.
Ultimately, as with most of Chow’s stuff (at least for me), it starts to wear thin the longer it goes on.
