I really just wanted to watch this to put something else on my train movies list. There's real potential that is systematically squandered with slow-motion gags, middling animations, and a score that threatens to put me to sleep. I feel like with different editing more energetic movement this movie could be at least half an hour shorter with all the same things and it would be twice as good. As it is, this movie is fucking anemic. Another thing about this is that it feels like everyone should have vastly more personality than they actually have. On top of all that, this movie is actually technically proficient most of the time, with a small number of scenes that land well, which somehow makes its failures all the more unforgiveable. It probably doesn't help that I've just watched a ton of Hong Kong flicks with immense amounts of energy, all of which absolutely put this ridiculous movie to shame.
Frankly, one star almost feels too high.
This goes on my train movies list, which currently doesn't have any other films which bored me to tears.
"Maybe one day I'll drug you too!"
