This was a super in depth and intricately well crafted documentary that gave lots of insight on every single Nightmare film and even some very cool information about New Line Cinema. The absolute perfect way to end my A Nightmare on Elm Street marathon is definitely by watching a FOUR HOUR documentary about the amazingly fantastic franchise. I wasn’t that fond of the runtime, but I was able to get through it and I honestly really enjoyed learning more about each film and how they were able to create the special effects, come up with the plot, and overcome the struggles that came about while making the now cult classic movies. Freddy Krueger is definitely one of the greatest horror villains of all time and feels more like a real character when compared to other psycho killers in horror films such as Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees. Freddy is scary, yet silly and that’s what I love about him. I also love that these movies put New Line on the map and even sparked the careers of some really big actors such as Patricia Arquette and Johnny Depp. I thought Wes Craven gave some very interesting insights on his views surrounding the other Nightmare films and I really enjoyed listening to Robert Englund talk about his portrayal as Freddy. I also really enjoyed the music and the stop motion animation sequences that introduced each movie right before they were going to be discussed. All in all, this was a fantastic documentary and if you are a big fan of these movies, I highly recommend watching this!!

I know this is about the legacy of a franchise and it’s definitely for the fans, but if you ever want to see what a lack of artistic self awareness is, watch this. Fuck, man, you can see people bow their heads to smell their own farts in this thing. I actually had to turn it off when Robert Englund said that fictional entity Freddy Krueger was more a violation than rape.

Bastante extenso, aunque puede dividirse en partes/segmentos y mirar la dedicada a cada película por separado. Pueden ser un buen complemento si se hace un revisionado de las pelis.
