Is this an ad for Huggies?Nicolas Cage is an incredible comedic actor, and he needs to work with the Coens again, ASAP! There are tons of elements here acculmate into a very entertaining and hilarious crime comedy. The characters, even if they only appear for brief snippetss are extremely memorable, and they are played very well by their respective actors. Helen Hunt was fantastic, John Goodman is John Goodman, and the other bit parts are just as memorable. The technical aspectselevate the comedy immensely with some great camera movements and editing. The Coens go pretty crazy here, and it felt fairly fresh even if I think some of their later comedies are better (Burn After Reading is one of my favorite things ever). What I think makes this movie stand out from other comedies like it is its emotional core about maturing. It was essentia;l to the story and greatly motivated the characters while leading to a satisfying finale.
