Thirty-eight year old Edwin Borsheim (of the band Kettle Cadaver) was once known for his bizarre stage antics and brutal self-mutilation. Now, years after the bands demise, Borsheim has fallen into complete seclusion on his acre of land in which he is surrounded by many of the horrible things he has created. As Edwin spirals further in to a hole of drug abuse and self destruction, those closest to Borsheim dissect his mental complexes as he himself reflects on his dark past.

Dead Hands Dig Deep
the people Harmony Korine makes movies about exist in real life. and its a lot harder to separate oneself from it when it's a real man you're watching fall apart at the seams. there's a disgusting mishaping of a desire for true authenticity when amalgamated with a dilapidated environment that is...all too real.

when i turn on a documentary about a shock-rock band that i’ve only ever heard of in these horror stories, i don’t expect to come away from it feeling moved.

edwin borsheim is such a character, but he’s not. he’s real - probably one of the realest people i’ve ever seen. there were things that he’d said that were completely and utterly powerful, enough to make you really sit and think on it. other things he said were just downright horrific. or both.

a true & real portrait of an absolute maniac.

somewhere in there is just a sweet, genuine, albeit little wacky dude. but he got dealt the worst possible set of cards imaginable.
so sure, i just watched a guy nail a piece of wood to his penis but this documentary was really really sad most of all. Definitely worth a watch.
To Laila: it’s not your fault, you tried your best.
And Edwin, rest in peace🖤

It don't matter how "authentic" or "true to himself" Edwin believes he is. there ain't a single world, timeline, or twisted parallel reality where that amount of self-humiliation should be praised, admired, or even acknowledged with a side glance. Those scenes aren't VFX or practical effects for fuck sake....that's some deep raw shit ,twisted demonic muck right out of an eldritch nightmare. Edwin isn't just fucked up he's the definition of a complete black hole of depravity.
