I was pretty disappointed by this considering the cast, most of the jokes did not land for me. I enjoyed William Powell the most by far.

"What's all this crud about no movie tonight?"

A great movie about boredom that doesn't get boring. You've got 3 of the greatest actors ever, of course it sings. I always found it kinda random that Lemmon won one of his Oscars for this, but damn I understand why, it has all his best assets on display, fizzy comedy and earnest despair.

A lot more of a hangout movie than I expected and certainly an odd use of John Ford and Cinemascope for such an obvious adaptation of a play. But with his cast, Fonda, Cagney, Lemmon, and especially William Powell, I could watch these guys for hours. I'd love to see a production of the actual play, or watch this movie with an audience.
