i wanted to reach through the screen to the animated woman who said she was a coward and say ‘no, you’re okay!’ while holding her face in my hands

A really interesting look at an American shooting through mostly animation. The film does not highlight or show the perpetrator at all. This is just about the victims and those present on the day. A really emotional end as well with so many brave people!
Glad I rewatched the bits I missed last week!

The gunshots being constant throughout almost the entire film was such a beautifully horrific decision. Also when it cut from the animated survivors to the real ones…oh man that hit me so damn hard

What is it with films about school shootings… it’s just plain weird and kinda fucked :/
The mix of animation and found footage gives it an especially weird vibe and even mixing in the music from rock to a kinda happy beat… it really doesn’t fit and I’m just unsettled even more then most cursed films I’ve seen (that are arguably much worse with their content) but they are aware and don’t try to make the events much happier then they are (such as red krokadil- very bleak but amazing film).
Of course I watched this in criminology
