i wanted to reach through the screen to the animated woman who said she was a coward and say ‘no, you’re okay!’ while holding her face in my hands

Plays with the ethicality of documentative storytelling with honourable and creative methods, both anonymising the victims/the extent of their trauma whilst having the materials to recreate it respectfully. A fascinating and visceral film that doesn’t get stuck within the tiresome traditions of recounting events.

A really interesting look at an American shooting through mostly animation. The film does not highlight or show the perpetrator at all. This is just about the victims and those present on the day. A really emotional end as well with so many brave people!
Glad I rewatched the bits I missed last week!
