"My only one, happy birthday... On this day, you came into the world. It's hard leaving you. But it can't be helped. There's no other way. It's war! I must go. We can't continue as before: enjoying ourselves while death stalks our land. We will be happy some day. I love you, I believe in you."—Your Boris.
*'The art of loving and hoping for someone.'
*
I really prepared this movie, i watch it at night when everyone was asleep, so that people in my house wouldn't see me crying so hard...How beautiful this film is, it is very deep and has a beautiful meaning, which I can't put into words. I cried so hard during the letter scene, oh my god I really hate the fucking slut bastard Mark. It's true that they weren't given any hope at all, they didn't even get to say goodbye, Veronika and Boris were really intense, they loved each other, both hope for the best for each other.
Veronika's perspective is clearly very painful, waiting for a guy who is uncertain whether he will come back into her life or not, waiting again and again until it rots, hoping for a guy who is on the battlefield will actually become the biggest heartbreak.
Veronika is portrayed as a fragile human being struggling against emotional devastation. She faces feelings of guilt for "giving in" to her circumstances. The "crane" symbolizes love. the story emphasizes that, despite mistakes, true loyalty and the resilience of the human spirit will prevail.
*
There are very few scenes of the two of them together, which is a testament to their love for each other, as it transcends the time they have together. It really focuses on their desire to be together again, they yearn for eachother.Overall, The moral conveyed is that war is an event that destroys humanity, and Veronika becomes a symbol of the struggle to survive amidst a soul-destroying tragedy. The ending of this story emphasizes acceptance of loss and hope.
**Such a meaningful film, really love the concept of this film. This entire film has something on me and that makes it feel timeless. I wish my future husband watch and gets anything shit on this film like i do.

"Give me something to remember you by. Until im old. When i'm with you, i'm not afraid of anything. Not even the war. I'll make a beautiful white dress for our wedding, like my grandmother had, and a veil. A really long one! And you'll wear your black suit."
