Director- Sion SonoThis is the fourteenth film I have seen of his.The film is a sequel to Shinjuku Swan 2015 and carries the story forward or at least tries to.The romantic angle is more fleshed out in this part but still is more on the open-ended side. The subtitles I watched this with were abysmal, to say the least. I have read better stuff being written by school kids. It seriously was a pain to read and prevented me from getting into the film. This was coupled with the loss of the saving grace from part one, the good writing. The fight scenes are a tad improved but nothing marginal. The final fight scene was much better in this but again was anticlimactic making it subpar. The inclusion of biased cops in this was interesting but goes nowhere beyond the first half. The acting was again too humorous for the premise and is even worse this time around given the stakes are higher.
The film was a disappointment even from a first film perspective. I will recommend people to not watch this part.
