A number of vicious murders occur in a small California town after a motorcycle-riding stranger arrives. The gruesome slayings look disturbingly like the work of a werewolf. Meanwhile, in another nearby town, police are hot on the trail of a killer they believe is a werewolf.

1995 | The Howling | Werewolves
You know, there is a Nirvana song whose title perfectly describes the situation I am in right now. The song is called "I Hate Myself and Want to Die". Yes, that's exactly it.
"Howling: New Moon Rising" takes the term godawful to a whole new level. The film only ran for 10 minutes and I burst out laughing. This is shit. Pure shit.
The film is directed, written, produced and edited by Clive Turner who also plays the leading role. Turner was heavily involved in "Howling IV: The Original Nightmare" and "Howling V: The Rebirth," which, up to this film, were the worst films of the series. I don't know what he was thinking when he made this film, but it wasn't much and nothing good.
The film tries to tie together parts 4, 5 and 6, which were completely disjointed and had absolutely nothing to do with each other, and it fails terribly. He does this by reusing a lot of footage from parts 4 and 5 and letting a priest and an investigator talk about it in terrible dialogues.
Much of the film consists of line dancing, country music, small town bar talk and montages of how Clive Turner's characters works and hangs out with the people of the town. They were all non-actors and actually locals from the town and you notice that in every second. The production quality is shit, the acitng terrible, the dialogues horrendous, the editing bad and the plot just a bunch of shit.
A pattern can also be recognized. All of the films Turner was involved in have a significant lack of werewolf, and that is the case here as well. Let's be honest, the film is not a werewolf film. The film is a sad excuse for a werewolf film. You hardly see the werewolves and in the end there is the ugliest transformation that has ever been captured on film.
