Pretty strong yakuza film with the spirit of a spaghetti western. It’s very fun! The straightforward story is nothing to write home about, but the overall visuals of the film, with its fake-looking sets, strong contrast, and rather bombastic zoom-ins do lead the eye enough to be incredibly engaging, especially during the final act. I do wish there was more done with the female characters in the film, but overall this was a nice watch

That cut from the gun barrel to the smoking exhaust pipe, every scene of someone putting together and reloading a gun, every time there was a dramatic zoom into the gun, one of the coolest final shootouts ever, hooooooly shit that’s movies baby we’re watching a movie here wowee. Tarintino wishes he’s made anything that fucks half as much as this (Hateful 8 excluded).
