Where do I sign up to also have my “mermaid experience”?

A film with a fairly modest budget, a calm pace, and a script that slowly builds all its elements; its only flaw, in my opinion, being the lack of a satisfying ending.

känns som jag missade något när jag kollade, den har ändå högt snittbetyg. men tyckte bara den var skum. kunde inte riktigt ta den på allvar heller för huvudkaraktären var lite, eller ganska mycket, lik Charlie Kirk. Iallafall från vissa håll. Den hade lite dialog som var bra och så och den var lite fin men i helhet så var den kass. Hade dock inte särskilt höga förväntningar. Såg den i flödet på TVn och gillade titeln, dessutom var tjejen väldigt vacker. Men det var inte mycket mer än så som var bra med denna filmen.

Thanks to MUBI again for yet another film I’ve never heard of, but glad I watched! Night Tide is one of those films that you truly have to watch to see the brilliance of the movie. The film is queer coded on so many levels I was honestly shocked considering the time period It came out in. Then again, the director is a queer individual and it was done wonderfully regardless.

The whiplash of seeing Dennis Hopper in a role that wasn’t horrific and/or traumatizing was truly something. He started off as such a cutie pie!!

Reminded me a lot of Petzold’s Undine, with its quiet earnestness, but I wish there had been more development of the romance to really push this to another level when it all goes so wrong. Really loved the restoration I watched though - loved that Nicolas Winding Refn was involved!!

Reminded me a lot of Petzold’s Undine, with its quiet earnestness, but I wish there had been more development of the romance to really push this to another level when it all goes so wrong. Really loved the restoration I watched though - loved that Nicolas Winding Refn was involved!!

good tubi find. dennis hopper is so baby faced in this i'm obsessed.

i love theme parks, so i loved seeing the carnival pieces and artwork. the sparkles on the mora the mermaid sign. yum. for being low budget, i really love the attention and dedication to visual cohesion.

really good jump scare when mora dances at the beach! wish the octopus looked less like a puppet, but i guess thats apart of the charm. you should watch this movie if you like the lighthouse but want it older, nicher, and somehow gayer!
