Heist movies may be my favorite genre of film and Inside Man is a great one that flips the genre upside down with moral bank robbers and an anti-capitalist theme. Denzel is still the coolest human being alive yet Clive Owen may have out acted him here? What could have been for Clive.

Over the next 2-3 weeks, I’m trying to watch as much of Spike Lee’s filmography as possible before Highest 2 Lowest starting here with Inside Man. It’s very Dog Day Afternoon-ish in construction, but the true antagonist being Christopher Plummer’s character was masterful work. I’m a huge sucker for a heist that works out absolutely flawlessly and Clive Owen’s heist was beautiful.

As always - fuck Nazis and Plummer’s character deserved what he had coming to him.

This film is so great on so many levels and when all the twists click together it’s euphoric. 

I loved Spikes double dolly shot but damn that one of Denzel was not right at all. 

Christopher Plummer is one of those actors that the more I see him the more I enjoy watching him. His old fashioned voice and powerful presence is so fun to watch. RIP

Ken Leung is a really underrated actor, love seeing him in more and more stuff.

9.3/10 Banger. Yeah this film was lit and surprised me with how great it was. Denzel Washington is genuinely a goat and he acts hid ass off here. The suspense in this film was executed perfectly and I didn’t want it to end. I also loved how smart the robbers were and that the weren’t even their for the cash. I hope they exposed that filthy rich old man for his blood money. My overall favorite scene though was the kid and robber playing the game with each other. It was such a simple scene I expected when I saw the kid but I still didn’t expect it to be so good. And when the bank robber actually walked out the door like he said he would made me so happy. Genuinely watch this film I don’t see how someone could dislike this.
