That’s weird because this movie is not thematically impressive and his performance is wonderful but it’s not outstanding. maybe it’s a contextual thing for the early sixties, but this was a wholesome movie with a good message

Watched this after seeing the play Retrograde and the actor who plays Poiter in the Q&A afterwards pointed out how absurd it is that not a single Poiter film was available on Netflix. This was on Prime, but his point still stands about the availability of Poiter's work to the masses today.

Really feels like they gave Sidney the Oscar here for his least confrontational role. I liked the scene where he let loose and compared the mother superior to Hitler, otherwise far too well-behaved of a film.
