The defense and the prosecution have rested and the jury is filing into the jury room to decide if a young Spanish-American is guilty or innocent of murdering his father. What begins as an open and shut case soon becomes a mini-drama of each of the jurors' prejudices and preconceptions about the trial, the accused, and each other.

pretty sure this is the oldest film i’ve seen (tho i technically already saw this in middle school). it really holds up imo. also kinda crazy that this has no time jumps and is pretty much shot in a single room and still is a compelling narrative.

All I can really say is there’s nothing really wrong with this movie. It’s not something that’s super entertaining for me though. It has a little bit of suspense on what’s going to happen to the life of this boy. There’s a good amount of emotion within this film. I remember watching a play adaptation of this with my grandparents and it always stuck with me so I knew what was going to happen in the end though. My only problem is if the kid didn’t do it then who did.

Henry Fonda: hmmm..but like what if we used our brains for 2 seconds.
I have a friend who said this is one of the most boring and worst movies he ever watched. He only rated it 5 stars because he’s scared people will hate him,and my mind just stopped, and I realized he’s being really performative,and I said to my self im never going to talk to him seriously about movies again. Then he asked me what the movie means, and I just said I don’t know too. Rewatched.
