Was NOT expecting a happy ending 🤩
Obviously the gorilla is the main thing of note, but the money grubbing bar owner changing his ways and going good? Didn't see that coming either 😂 Also his resemblance to Spider-Man character J Jonah Jameson is uncanny 😆

The best “THE END” title I’ve ever seen. Other than that, it’s just a weaker, more racist King Kong. BUT, the Harryhausen VFX make it tolerable.

the movie itself is kind of a pg King Kong but it’s so incredible when stop motion can stand the test of time and this is a great example of how it ages when done well

I don't know why it's taken me so long to see this. It's almost as good as King Kong! The children's home bit comes out of nowhere but it's an incredibly exciting sequence nonetheless. The whole film is a thrill and a joy.
