❝We're all the same. There's nobody left to love us.❞

Ma vie de Courgette is a heartbreaking look into how children react to trauma and being orphaned, and truly, no child should have to go through it. The film shows how each orphan deals with the loss of their parents, as well as the more positive aspects of their life at the orphanage. It was so endearing to watch the kids together, because they became their own found family instead. There are so many ups and downs as the film progresses, but it ends on a happy note at least for Courgette and Camille. The stop-motion animation is a perfect medium for this story, as in my opinion, it adds a little strangeness that's endearing, and the character designs are awesome. The soundtrack is also beautifully done, inspiring a mix of melancholy feeling with hope. I especially loved the voice-acting; there was no awkwardness with any line delivery and all the children sounded like real, absolutely adorable kids, which made me sob after hearing the emotions in their voices.
If you haven't seen this heart-wrenching film already, go give it a watch; it's only an hour long and worth every minute of your time.
