Definitely underrated, Argento does nothing new on Sleepless it is very familiar territory but I did not mind there is too much to enjoy here.
The film opens with a very strong sequence, I always enjoy a chase set piece on a train, for me this opening is top tier Argento, unfortunately the scene sets the bar high and I’m not sure the films reaches this point again, however I was very intrigued by the film.
The acting, apart from Max von Sydow who gives a great performance with the material given, was very flat, the two young couple was boring and the acting did not any favours to the characters, also the direction and cinematography is not as visually striking as his other efforts, it feels a bit like a TV-movie. At the end i did liked the movie a lot, its a pretty solid late period giallo and that opening scene is one of my favourites of Argento’s career now.
