a story about everything really; the exploitation of women, the dynamics and relationships between mothers, daughters and siblings, generational trauma, fates worse than death, a coming-of-age, love and loss and, of course, slavery and black pain in modern america ! every scene i find is full of meaning with layer upon layers and toni morrison was a genius
needed to watch this because i feel like i didn’t really fully absorb and understand the book. glad i did!
i did not like the way beloved was depicted tbh
