This has been on the watch list for a long time. There's something amazing about the opening scene being an incredibly abrupt sting on a flasher. I don't mean that in a good way, necessarily, I'm just legitimately surprised.

But then immediately after that, everyone's favorite, Michelle Yeoh, starts blasting suckers with fucking hand cannons.

Unfortunately, a ton of screen time goes to an unfunny trio of thieves, I think named after medications because they put you to sleep. But whenever the two main ladies are on, this movie is good. I personally feel that Michelle Yeoh and Cynthia Rothrock are screen presences that could make any film watchable. And, of course, this film would actually be perfect if they cut out 20-30 minutes of the three thieves and added in another 15-30 with Yeoh and Rothrock. For what it's worth, the apartment fight scene is close to perfect.

(Actually, a caveat that I do like Tsui Hark in this, but the other two bring it all down for me.)

Michelle Yeoh kicks ass in this movie. I love love loved the action sequences. Especially with the final fight as well as the beginning. Awesome. I also loved the relationship between the three brothers and all the bickering. And I loved the fight scene in the one apartment with all the sliding doors and such. This movies just awesome. This lowk makes me wanna rewatch EEAAO again. Just because of Michelle Yeoh. She’s the goat when it comes to martial arts/action.
