wow. saltburn done right. this movie is gorgeous and warming and so so so pompous and horny but it all strictly adds to the overall appeal. these scenarios are not real, but they do a damn good job of conveying their meaning.
this might be the best down bad movie of all time.
it’s truly a beautifully shot film — every single scene is centered around the relationship. nothing else in the movie is given priority in any way. ive never thought about how much unnecessary context the average movie gives you. this movie does not mess around — it knows what it wants to explore with its time in your life and it gets to it
the dialogue — genuinely incredible. up there with the social network for me.
legitimately only a few things i didnt adore about this movie. it’s too long, it’s definitely slightly too pompous, one of the sufjan stevens songs did not bang, and one of the transitions (the one with the train horn) was so poorly designed that it made me roll my eyes and groan
