This is so good dude. It packs in a completely ridiculous amount of god tier action while still having a great story about, of course, characters who continuously scam each other. Nobody ever look at me weird when I refer to Sammo Hung as an auteur.

This is so good dude. It packs in a completely ridiculous amount of god tier action while still having a great story about, of course, characters who continuously scam each other. Nobody ever look at me weird when I refer to Sammo Hung as an auteur.

This borders on being an all timer, as quite frankly there isn’t a single notable element about it that isn’t at least good. The pacing is great, the comedy is actually amusing, the characters are charming, and the action is mostly great, with the final set piece actually sliding into “legendary” levels of good.
There are a couple notable plot twists and subversions of expectations that actually work very well. This is the kind of Chinese action movie you could show to people who are not action junkies and they’d be able to totally appreciate it.
