i really enjoyed the long takes here. in the beginning they grounded logan lucky, highlighting both ordinariness of the characters and the little silly quirks they have. the established takes have a payoff, as their point of emphasis shifts from grounding the movie to enabling the deadpan humor of the actual heist. these guys are idiots in a funny way, making you question their competency and in the same scene prove you wrong. it’s definitely a sodenbergh movie, but it distinguishes itself enough from the oceans series to form its own heist experience. lots of fun with this.
