tudo bem que o filme esconde muita coisa (principalmente no relacionamento do Elvis com a Priscilla) e inventa bastante coisa também, mas continua sendo um puta filme pois o John Carpenter usa a figura do Elvis pra criar toda uma história de auge, queda e ascensão, não só do Elvis mas da indústria americana no geral.
e eu ADORO o Kurt Russel como Elvis, ele copiando alguns trejeitos dele é muito engraçado, mas não ironicamente é uma excelente atuação, ele incorporou o cantor extremamente bem.
é um precursor das cinebiografias atuais, bem antes da saturação.

Was kinda surprised that they were critical of Elvis in this and didn’t portray him highly, especially considering that this was released just 2 years after his death.

Perfectly cast, yet directed even better. It’s a shame that John Carpenter got boxed in to the horror genre as this shows his ability to do grand scale films that deal with genre and elements that transcend cheap slashers. Kurt is the best Elvis, capturing his essence more so than an impression.
