i love the practical effects in this movie a lot!! but yeah it has its flaws..

i’m a massive fan of B movie trash, and this movie was just the definition of that. it features some really gross practical effects which i think are extremely cool looking, that alone made me like this film. it’s a campy 70s horror flick which uses unintentional comedy and a silly narrative to create a somewhat enjoyable experience. unfortunately, there’s a lot of negatives. i find the pacing abnormally slow. like it felt like watching paint try, i really hated the massive variety or characters, i hate when films switch its main character every 5 minutes as it’s just confusing and it just destroys any potential development. the plot is incoherent and has a messy narrative, i also think this just isn’t very interesting in the slightest, they could’ve leaned more into the so bad it’s good factor, but it just fails to peak my interest. wish i liked it more… but i don’t

Thought I’d seen this episode of MST3K before, but I haven’t and realized it was the actual movie I watched. Actually one of the more entertaining movies they ever done.

Surprised how much i enjoyed this. Monster feels closer to being from the 30s/40s than 70s. Some of the acting feels completely alien. Some of the hysterics feel like they’re from the 50s. Lots of shots of the monster wandering different landscapes. Some of the movie definitely drags but rhe overall amateurishness of it is largely compensated for unique or interesting ideas.
