the last shark is basically just the first two jaws movies made into one shitty movie.
the acting was not the greatest, the plot was practically stolen off jaws, but i can see how it could be somewhat enjoyable. to be honest, it was okay, but you never got the chance to feel any connection to any of the characters and just kind of don't give a fuck as the shark picks them off one by one.
you can also see major influence from the first two jaws movies throughout the whole movie, especially with the sailboats (which were a big part of jaws 2). besides the shark and decent fx, this movie doesn't have much else to offer that is worth watching for. the whole movie is practically, shark terrorises small area, people panic, mayor refuses to close beaches and continues with their sailboat competition bs, and shark kills people. so literally jaws and jaws 2.
extra half a star just for the soundtrack which was amazing but id say not fitting where it was used, where it shouldve been tense, and horrifying, it was rather just funny because the music didn't add to the atmosphere at all.
overall a boring watch but decently made for the time and budget.

The only reason this gets a somewhat decent rating from me is I liked the Quint and Mayor Vaughn understudies. That is, if this were Jaws, which it totally isn’t. Wink.
