Best Worst Movie summarizes the cult following surrounding the gloriously awful, so-bad-it’s-good cult horror film *Troll 2, catching up with its washed-up stars as well. Director Michael Stephenson, the child star of Troll 2, clearly embraces his film’s bizarre, The Room-eque cult following, and so does actor George “you can’t piss on hospitality” Hardy. Although Hardy hasn’t acted since, he is one of the few Troll 2* cast members to have a degree of success afterwards, specifically in dentistry. For the majority of the doc, he seems to love re-enacting scenes and discussing the film with friends and adoring fans. However, it is hard not to empathize with some of the other actors who haven’t been so lucky. Even Hardy starts to lament the fact that only half a dozen people visit his panel at a horror convention. One of the more entertaining subjects is Troll 2 Director Claudio Fragasso, who is seemingly still convinced that he made a good movie. Although it becomes more bittersweet in its conclusion, Best Worst Movie is still an incredibly entertaining documentary that’s bound to give anyone new appreciation for the disasterpiece known as Troll 2.(Oh my god!).
