I liked the movie but I feel like it lacked when it comes to portraying the princess’ struggles and what she might’ve felt. I also wish that they would go more into her relationship with her daughter, and what happened to her.

historically inaccurate of course, but i think this kinda gets the message across naman, with the way Yi Deokhye was constantly deprived of opportunities to treat her home a home, practice her culture, etc. all those remarks about wanting to eat non-Japanese food were really... <//3 colonization really just isn't about stripping the people their land no? it's also about stripping them of their community and identities, until they have no choice but to seek safety in the identity you force on them (or lose their minds bc of the isolation)
(also i'm tagging this as a friend rec, but this was actually recommended by my prof HELP tinatamad ako mag-adjust ng tags just for this xD)
