Having read the BLAME! manga before watching this film, I found the adaptation a little disappointing. I hate to say it, but the story is so different from the manga (even though they kept the MC’s vision).
I expected a world full of vertical labyrinths where you're constantly climbing stairs to new levels; this film felt like it stayed on the same level and felt kind of isolated. As for the combat, I didn’t expect Killy to need to charge his overpowered gun every single time—what’s with this 'holy nerf'?
What I liked least, though, was that the story centered entirely on human safety. I was hoping they’d fight the 'Emperor' or something similar, rather than just messing around with a fake Net Terminal Gene lmao. It could've been better.
