Bela Lugosi plays a scientist upset that he’s only getting $5,000 and not anything more from the millions the cosmetics company he worked for has made from his work. So, like any man cheated by the system of capitalism, he decides to get revenge!
Not much of a mystery for us, the viewer, because we already know Bela Lugosi is the killer. The process of the journalists figuring out it’s him, though, is pretty fun. Lugosi gives a performance like only he can, a consummate professional whether he’s making something for the big studios or these fly-by nights. It’s actually quite a blast to see the footage cut from giant rubber bat to stock footage of bat, too. Not anything super special but still a fun time.
