This was actually a pretty fascinating movie about religion. I think it does a good job at not picking a side,but rather showing the similarities between the two. On one hand, we have the Christians who enter the village convinced they are fighting God's fight against evil. On the other hand, the pagans preemptively retaliate believing they are defending against Christianity. They both commit atrocities in the name of their religion while simultaneously accusing each other of these same crimes.
