I feel like this could be categorized under Slice of Life however grim that may be.
There was a bleakness throughout the whole film that felt on purpose. This feels like a very pessimistic perspective on "the children are our future" concept. This is the world they have grown in, this is what they've learned, and we are all complicit.
It's just so dull and boring but at the same time I feel like it was meant to be which is why I can't really fault the movie for it.
