When David Lynch was making his film Blue Velvet, German filmmaker Peter Braatz was also on set, shooting documentary footage with a Super 8 film camera. Now, on Blue Velvet's 30th anniversary, Braatz presents his footage, along with still photographs, as a "meditation" on Lynch's work.

Watched this at IFC with a q&a by the director. He talked about how he only had enough film to shoot 2.5 minutes of footage a day and how kind David was to him on set and then when the q&a was over he said in a German accent “we have to be done?” 😪

A meditation on a movie by Peter Braatz.
A Lynchian documentary fit to cover one of the greatest films of all time.
My appreciation for Blue Velvet grew exponentially after watching this doc.
An experimental approach to the documentary genre. I loved every second of it.
Long Live David Lynch ♥️
