The fifth and next to last installment in the Lone Wolf and Cub series is still slapping. This has a lot of cool battles and singular kills, but I missed something in the middle part. Still... a really good entry.

The quintet of warriors, armed with only one-fifth of the information Ogami has to work with, is extremely cool and entertaining. They’ve all been sent to test Ogami and Daigoro to see if they’re fit for a new mission, with multiple clans’ futures at stake.

Daigoro finds himself in an unusual situation, separated from Ogami, which allows us to see how he carries himself when Quick Change Oyô’s future relies on him. Both of their characters are tested when they find themselves intertwined.

I love this one. It feels more like a side story than something that furthers the overarching narrative. Still fabulous, though. Man, I love these. Watching Ogami slice through the Masked Men is so much fun.

Hypothetical American test screening feedback card: I didn't love when he decapitated the toddler but I understand that he is walking the Demon Way in Hell and was paid well for it. Also, Daigoro is still adorable.

these movies are so consistently fun and entertaining. this is probably one of the worst ones and yet it's still so good. the director from the first 3 came back for this and he really did well in this movie, i love how much changed in this. the start where ogami had to fight 5 for money and info was very interesting but i wish they focused more on that rather than the ship fight which dragged out imo. i loved daigoros side plot with the thief i thought that was really good and it shows that he's really growing up to be just like his father. this has the best cinematography of them all so far, most shots were just so beautiful. especially the scenes with ogami and daigoro walking to the temple with the sunset in the background, genuinely one of the most beautiful shots in any movie. these movies are so colourful, i wish movies were as beautiful as movies from the 70's cause i swear they are a different kind. the acting in this was also rlly good, the actor who plays ogami has been rlly good throughout the whole series but the actor for daigoro has been amazing especially in this one. i liked the story in this, they're all simple but again this one was just rlly engaging and entertaining. i loved the daigoro plot line so much and i loved the final fight.
