***“Both of you, father and son, nothing but grim reapers. Step by step, walk down the path of carnage.”

Alright, so the baby cart is now a sled set against the backdrop of beautiful snow for the final conflict between Ogami and the Yagyu clan to play out, uh, yeah, I’ll take it.
You finally feel like Ogami and Daigoro are in harm’s way and not the other way around anymore. It’s nice to feel that there’s a real threat to the duo, more so than there ever has been. That’s really only because of the supernatural element here, though.
I’m not huge on the Tsuchigumo clan, but they make for some fun scenes, especially when the three of them meet their demise in the snow.
Although I still love this one, it’s a bit slow and maybe the least captivating in the series. It all comes together for a phenomenal ending sequence, though. Although it may not be the most definitive end-of-the-story ending, I think it works just fine. The path Ogami and Daigoro have chosen is one that will never end.
Man, I’m sad that these are all done now. I’ve really enjoyed throwing myself into the series, and now it’s over. I’ll be rewatching these sooner rather than later, though. Ogami and Daigoro are one of the best duos of all time. They’re only as strong as they are because they have each other by their side.
Get the Criterion set. It’s one of their best, if not the best, that I’ve come across so far. It’s truly phenomenal. I feel part samurai after completing all of these.
