The suspense in Hotel Mumbai made me forget how tense The Shining was

Honestly, I love how deeply Hotel Mumbai explores the theme of kindness and compassion. Dev Patel was absolutely incredible, and that moment with the racist woman really hits hard. Hate, racism, and cruelty always seem to show themselves the most during terrifying times, and the film captures so well how kindness is one of the few things that can stop that hatred from spreading.

It also does a great job showing the true nature of terrorism: the people orchestrating it couldn’t care less about the young, lost, brainwashed boys they manipulate and send to die as cannon fodder
