such an effervescent display of exactly the kind of joie de vivre that the tagline suggests. i mean, what more could challenge hate than love? well, love and leigh bowery giving birth to a full grown adult on stage. god, this is just marvellous. to see a celebration of life so vivacious, though underpinned with the real sense of mortality and loss, is exemplary of how the queer community has survived through so much bullshit from the establishment. rip john sex and all those who've been lost, and long live wigstock!

At first I thought this was more of a fictional movie about Wigstock, but quickly I realized it was in fact a documentary. It plays more as a concert movie with some behind the scenes of the performers. 

I will say that performance by Leigh Bowery was insane. I wonder if the makers of the movie Men saw it first and was like, let’s make a movie from it.
