This follows Dr. Alan Stone who is treating three paranoid schizophrenic patients at the Ypsilanti State Hospital in Michigan, who all believe they are all Jesus Christ.
This is a film that is based on a true story. The story this movie is based on is interesting and heartbreaking, showing what people with extreme mental health issues had to go through back in the 60s. While also depicting a doctor showing real empathy and care for his patients.
Apart from the actual story this movie was bland with an okay script. All movies based on a true story dramatize certain things and add in extra pieces to the story. Sometimes it works for me and this time it did not. Knowing the actual story and even doing a little research you realize that this film had a problem telling what actually happened. If they would have stuck to the story of what was true this could have been a great film, but unfortunately that is not what happened. They ventured off too much and it became the longest 1hr 45min film I've ever seen.
