❝Things get messy when you make a deal with the devil.❞

I remember really loving this film when I first saw it, but unfortunately on rewatch it doesn't seem to have the same charm. That's not to say it's totally trash; it's not life-changing, but it's certainly entertaining.
The plot twist is pretty good, as are the following escapades, though I started to get a bit bored towards the end. I also didn't like the weirdly focused on/very male gaze kiss, and there wasn't a lot of info on the rituals themselves or what the high schoolers wanted so much they were willing to take part. However, the main problems I had were Bella Thorne and King Bach, because a. they were so unfunny, and b. couldn't act to save their lives. I was unironically so glad when they died. Hana Mae Lee did alright, but I'm not a big fan of 'goth' characters who are just edgier than the people around them.
I did really like the editing and creativity behind the death scenes though, and Samara Weaving, Robbie Amell and Judah Lewis were great.
The Babysitter is an alright film; it's not the worst thing I've ever watched, and it'd be nice to watch with friends perhaps. I can 100% guarantee, though, without knowing anything about it, that the sequel is garbage.
