what an interestingly lit movie. it took gambles with its coloring and camera angles and i found it quite enjoyable. dubious start to their relationship, with the intense stalking and its kind of funny that he's perfectly okay with it. the romance was cute however, and it takes a bit of a upsetting turn at the end when they're found out. i guess sugarbaby refuses to give up.

Huber: How could I have found someone as wonderful as you, Sugarbaby?
Marianne: Found? You found me? I have observed you, I have hunted you... and finally I gotcha.
Huber: And why?
Marianne: Why what?
Huber: Why me?
Marianne: Why... is the banana crooked?
Huber: I'm serious.
Marianne: Look, Sugarbaby, no explanation. Nobody knows why.
*
Nobody knows why.
That's love for ya. Dreams, desires, passion, will. Why is mine this and yours that? Why is mine anything at all? Why do I love something that you hate, and you love something that I hate?
Ugh. Some of my favourite set design ever, from the very beginning when Marianne's room was barren. Some of my favourite use of lighting too. I absolutely adored this!!!
What I had somewhat disregarded as another fluff piece amongst millions of fluff pieces ended up being a film that I wholly enjoyed. A simplistic and simplistically beautiful story.
