Man i love movies where someone gets murdered and is brought back to life as part man part machine to enact justice.
Too bad he isn't a cop in this one or itd be even better
Also theres a really cool split diopter shot in this movie and its a shame it isnt a backdrop on here

17th Miike Movie!
People say this movie is basically just Robocop, but I haven’t actually seen Robocop so I have no idea how similar they are but I was about 30 minutes into this and I thought that this was going to be the most mediocre movie I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Then, I saw Hagane kick a dude UP the stairs and take somebody’s head off, kick it through the glass of a high building, sent it like 10 buildings away and then teleported over at the building it landed at and then killed all the guys there. Nothing could’ve prepared me for that. Even though the special effects look like a damn powerpoint presentation, the practical effects are soooo goood oh my god I love the practical effects. This movie is also like stupidly stupidly funny and really fucking violent, holy shit this movie is violent. I think the main thing I didn’t like is while yes, you can have a violent and funny movie like dark humor and shit, but the part where the woman just gets turned into a sex slave is just completely out of nowhere and a little much, just cause I mean it’s mostly a comedy and I thought it was really funny but then that shit just came out of nowhere and kinda fucked up the mood. Besides that though, i think this is a really silly movie and I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did, but this is a great movie in my opinion! I really don’t think it’s for everybody but I think it’s just got a ton of charm and creativity in it. The ending is one of the weirdest things you’ll ever see btw.

- Miike Marathon - Part 1:
Basically if robocop and Tetsuo had a yakuza baby.
I liked the overall flow of the story, even though in reality it’s sort of 3 stories. First is a strait forward yakuza film, with basically nothing out of the ordinary. Second switches things up and becomes a science fiction revenge story. Third takes a surprisingly dark turn that obviously isn’t unnatural for Miike films, but since the first 2/3 of the film is relatively light, the brutality of the third caught me off guard. Especially since it started with a somewhat heartfelt romantic couple scenes that I really enjoyed. Silly me. Overall though not too bad, definitely not Mike’s most intense, interesting, or disturbing. But still entertaining.
