Not my favourite of Wes Anderson's full-length films, but still a lovely experience nonetheless, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou is a very pretty adventure full of endearing moments. For me, the plot is a little convoluted and drags a bit around halfway through, but the final twenty minutes or so really redeems the whole thing. I loved the performances from the cast, and the Bowie catalogue sung by Seu Jorge was absolutely beautiful, complementing the general atmosphere well. I think I need to rewatch this to fully appreciate it, but for now I'll just say that I liked it, and I can see why it has a cult following.

I watched this in two parts one summer afternoon in my room and then after dinner I continued it in the lounge with my dad, after finishing it in the evening it made me appreciate the old man especially with the movies fatherly themes. He was loving when they were on that abandoned hotel on that island, guess it was the action that he liked, he left before they found the shark, then came back and turned on the chase. 
Anyway was a beautifully shot movie, with such an interesting storyline. I loved the Spanish David Bowie covers throughout fuck my dad loves David Bowie, I remember we sang china girl at this karaoke bar one time. This is straying away from a movie review to a dad appreciation post haha anyway I’ll leave it in, great movie
