❝Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.❞

Not my favourite of Wes Anderson's full-length films, but still a lovely experience nonetheless, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou is a very pretty adventure full of endearing moments. For me, the plot is a little convoluted and drags a bit around halfway through, but the final twenty minutes or so really redeems the whole thing. I loved the performances from the cast, and the Bowie catalogue sung by Seu Jorge was absolutely beautiful, complementing the general atmosphere well. I think I need to rewatch this to fully appreciate it, but for now I'll just say that I liked it, and I can see why it has a cult following.
