Whew, this was an experience. It's taken me a while to warm up to Tommy, particularly after being blasted in the face with The Room for a year, but he is an absolute fucking blast now that he knows not to take himself seriously. He sells this movie, very much aware that he is a ridiculously terrible actor, but embracing it with so much charisma and intentional humor that is impossible to not enjoy. Ridiculous from every single filmmaking and screenwriting standpoint, which is very much to be expected from a film with Tommy and Greg. Best F(r)iends turns their chemistry into macabre surrealism and total psychopathy, making for an insanely good time. (Even if it is repetitive, misogynistic, racist, and abominably flawed. This is all very much expected.)
