#Film 45. (Directed by Ingmar Bergman)
Almost like Film Noir with a psychiatrist instead of a Detective.
As always Ingmar Bergman delivers.. this time a fairly disturbing film and the first scene is terrifying. The film quickly turns into a character study like no other. Probably Bergman’s darkest in my opinion, but not his best character study, but close and highly engaging. The German setting and dialogue makes it even darker and it’s strange seeing Ingmar Bergman work in another language than Swedish.
The whole film has a dark and gritty athmosphere and his decision to use black & white was great.
Very underrated, highly recommend.
