Vengeance is Mine gives an uncanny and bizarre look into such a depraved character. The senselessness and absurdity behind their actions reminds me of Albert Camus’ The Stranger. Each character’s personality stands out with their distinct motives and yearnings. Imamura crafts very human characters whose flaws lead them to their downfalls if not by Enokizu’s actions.
