As a Charles, I definitely hate how much of myself I see in this Charles. He’s an awful person who does awful things to the people he loves. It’s hard to grapple with that and even our jokes and mannerisms are similar. 

Shoutout to Joan for making a movie that makes me hate myself. That’s what a good director is capable of doing, and she does it incredibly well. As with the first time I saw this movie, it is a blanket of snow outside and 10° weather. ‘Tis the season I suppose.

decided to put this on because of the cold snap coming through chicago and i've been meaning to watch more joan micklin silver movies. she really knows how to portray a despicable man, it's just a bummer that it's the main character.

laura has some fantastic quilts on that mattress she keeps on the floor. and there are a lot of solid sweaters and pants in this movie. the jeans look so blue and sturdy. we have lost the sauce for fabric these days. ugh.

speaking of ugh: what the actual fuck is wrong with charles??? he's a total freak and i was SHOCKED the movie didn't end with him killing everyone. thank god they re-released this with the ending mickin silver wanted, which is him NOT getting the woman he threatened to beat and rape back. proto patrick bateman loser. get fucked!!!

anyway, makes me want to smoke a cigarette like all movies where someone smokes a cigarette. womp womp.
